Overview

A large logistics and supply chain company needed manual operational overhead reduced and process consistency improved. The work combined process mining to identify automation candidates, RPA development and deployment for high-volume repetitive tasks, and intelligent workflow orchestration for complex multi-step processes spanning several business systems.

The Challenge

The company's operations teams spent over 60% of their time on manual, repetitive tasks across order processing, vendor onboarding, invoice reconciliation, and compliance reporting. Processes were poorly documented, with significant variation between teams and locations. Previous automation attempts had failed due to lack of process understanding, resulting in bots that broke frequently and required constant maintenance.

The Solution

Celonis process mining analyzed 18 months of event log data to map actual process flows and rank the highest-impact automation candidates. UiPath bots were then built for 15 core processes, split between attended and unattended automation by complexity. Power Automate handled simpler workflow orchestration, a React operations dashboard gave visibility into bot performance and exception handling, and MongoDB stored execution logs for ongoing optimization analysis.
